What is included in a Mythic Travel Tour?

Your Mythic Travel tour is a "turnkey" land package. Two meals are included every day, usually breakfast and dinner. All tips at meals and hotels, including porterage fees are also included. When you arrive at Attaturk Airport in Istanbul, a Mythic Travel representative will be waiting for you as you exit baggage claim. You will be whisked in comfort to your hotel-and, when you leave Istanbul whether at the end of the tour or later, if you choose to stay on, a Mythic Travel representative will escort you to the airport.

So, if so many things are included in the Mythic Travel tour, what isn't included?

Actually, all you need to bring on a Mythic Travel tour to Turkey is lunch money and shopping money-and don't skimp on the shopping money. There are so many beautiful things to buy along the way: carpets, pottery, jewelry. Every place we stop has alluring shops and vendors. Also, alcoholic beverages are not provided at dinner. It is customary to tip the driver and guide and since the amount you give is discretionary, that is not included in the cost of the tour. As a guideline, I like to suggest $2-3/day for the driver and $5-7/day for the guide-depending, of course, on your budget and desires.

Do I need to get a visa to visit Turkey?

You must have a U.S. Passport that is valid for at least 6 months after your entry into Turkey. The visa for United States citizens costs $20 and is available at the airport before you go through passport control.
Bring this fee in cash, since they do not take credit cards. If you are joining a Mythic Travel tour from another country, check with the Turkish consulate in your area to determine whether you need to purchase a visa.

What kind of hotels will I stay in on the tour?

Mythic Travel uses four and five star hotels in the larger cities and the best accommodations available in out of the way locations. You can be assured of a good night's rest in a clean, comfortable hotel every night on your Mythic Travel tour.

What inoculations do I need to travel to Turkey?

Turkey is a clean, safe place for travelers. Mythic Travel recommends that you contact your doctor or the Center for Disease Control if you are concerned about inoculation recommendations.

I am a vegetarian. Will I have difficulty finding a variety of food?

Turkish cuisine is one of the world's great cuisines. It is characterized by creative use of spices and vegetables with a wide choice to satisfy every palate. Whether you eat at the sumptuous buffets at one of the excellent hotels, or a small family run restaurant, there will be many delectable meat free and even vegan dishes available.

I want to stay in Turkey after the tour is over. Can you help me with those plans?

Yes, Mythic Travel can reserve hotel space (often at a discounted rate) if you choose to extend your stay in Turkey. We can also help with airline, bus and railroad schedules if you plan to continue your travels independently.
